Emotional
Athlete
a health and wellness podcast for when the
mental gymnastics
start to feel like they’ve been bending you
over backwards.
Kassi doesn’t ”do” sports. She can’t throw a ball, much less hit one. But what she can do is mental gymnastics. From being known as someone who adamantly avoided all emotions, to feeling them all at once, there was nothing left to do but put that word vomit into a podcast. Every week she talks all things light, heavy, and all the messed up sh*t in between - hopefully getting a little bit more emotionally flexible each time.

About
Kassi
podcast host. designer. general optimist. kassi has always known that she wanted to hold space for people to share their stories. she never thought that founding that space would mean sharing her own.
the year is 2017 and kassi is sitting in a community college acting class when her professor says something unintentionally profound: actor’s are emotional athletes. they have a 24 hour access to emotions and must be able to access them on a moment’s notice. much like an athlete would.
that’s when it all clicks. life requires us all to be emotional athletes. we need to train our emotional responsiveness - like a sport - to make sure nothing is out of our range. to feel is an exercise. it might be painful at times, but it’s also a vital skill. and in that practice, there will be high highs, low lows, and a lot of hilarious podcast episodes in between.
